All circuit boards are held in place by melted plastic, no screws unfortunately. I'm thinking the resister might need to be bypassed if using a complete LED replacement circuit intended to be installed in place of a standard bulb, but there should be space. I also pulled apart the map light assembly to see how hard it would be to upgrade the LED's to perhaps 3 watt CREE LEDs. There are some tiny plastic parts that snap to hold the headliner in place, but they easily pull loose once the metal ones are released. The back side will just hinge out once the snaps are pulled loose. It's primarily held by two metal snap clips closest to the windshield.
